Game Controls:

  • Mouse to select and move the Ro'y
  • Keyboard arrows/WASD to move the câmera
  • Mouse wheel to zoom in and out

Objectives

  • Lower the temperature of the Weather Beacons to spread the Winter
  • Freeze the Heart of Summer to freeze the region
  • Don´t let the Summer melt the Heart of Winter!
  • Be quick; after 10 days spring arrives to wake the Summer
  • At night, the cold Ro'y spawn faster, but during the day, it´s the Aku time


The Game:

Seasons come and go. Lazy is the Summer, and now it's time for Winter! Let the cold spread on the land, but remember: spring is always near to wake up the heat again...

My third game for my third Game Jam (Godot Wild Jam #76)! Even though it was a more complex idea, things went better than last time. Nevertheless, there were many ideas I couldn’t implement in time:

  1. Procedurally generated world divided into regions, to be progressively selected on the start menu (ended up with only the 2 testing maps done for the rest);
  2. Power-ups and combinations for the Ro'y to create more diverse gameplay;
  3. Rally points and spawn points in the beacons;
  4. A "fog-of-war" on the map, so one of the objectives is find the Heart of Summer;
  5. Better pathfinding for the Aku (ended up using fixed PathFollow2D).


Might try and implement it after the Jam.
